2025-0128 Soccer Girls Varsity | Waterford vs Mariposa

Sometimes I get derailed by possibilities. I’ll get struck by a crazy idea like, “I wonder if I could rig a remote camera the way the pros do it, but with my old and out of date gear?” Add a healthy dose of ADHD and probably a dash of autism and you wind up with me showing up a few minutes late to Tuesday’s game after rushing the boys home from school and flying out the door with a bag full of “I don’t know if this is going to work,” in tow. I’d just barely gotten to the field with my little cart of overkill, when the sound of fevered cheering caught my ear. I whipped out the closest camera I could and started shooting. Those first frames would end up capturing the first goal of the day. During luls in the action I’d set up a bit of kit, then go back to shooting when the ball drew near. Twenty minutes later I’d end up capturing a shot of goal number three as it sailed past the goalie via my improvised remote cam. The girls dominated with a 5-2 win over Mariposa, giving me plenty of opportunities to test out my new setup. Congrats, Lady Wildcats, and thank you for all the wonderful chances at stellar photos.

Let’s Shoot!
