2025-0306 Golf Boys | River Oaks
Take a little walk with me as I cover golf for the first time. With the final yearbook deadline right around the corner and the first match not scheduled until AFTER that deadline, we needed to get SOMETHING in for golf before it was too late. And so, I found myself out covering the guys getting in a round at River Oaks yesterday. Their tee time came up before my designated arrival time and so I ended up fast walking my way down to the course. Took me a while to dial things in, then work out angles and perspective, all while the clouds worked their hardest to make sure that each section of photos looked like they were taken on different days under different lighting conditions (the latter of which is true, thanks clouds). I think that when I cover golf again, I’ll scout out the holes with the best light, and camp there, catching the players as they come through, rather than trek along with them. But what do you think? What can I improve on for the next round? Do you have any tips for me?

Team photos often don’t convey the uniqueness of your athlete. Why not book a sports centered portrait session filled with dramatic light and special effects?
